"We still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping at the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised to furnish new pretenses for revenue and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without a tribute."

Under Pressure: Oliver Willis and the Liberalverse

A number of liberal weiners, such as Oliver Willis, who we will use for this demonstration, are today howling George Bush Is A LIAR. (Oliver has to keep launching this accusation over again with each "discovery" because it never sticks.) So confident is Oliver on this that he even provides a link that reads "Click here to watch the president of the greatest country on the face of the earth tell this lie." This is what Bush said that made the stubble on Odub's shaved head stand straight up:
He stated flatly that Kerry had said earlier in the week "he would prefer the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein to the situation in Iraq today." The line drew gasps of surprise from Bush's audience in a Racine, Wis., park.
Uh oh, though, here's what Kerry actually said:
"The satisfaction we take in his downfall does not hide this fact: We have traded a dictator for a chaos that has left America less secure."
You see?! BUSH L... Uh, wait. Kerry clearly presented trading Saddam for "the situation we have now" as being a bad thing. He said exactly what Bush said he did. It's an absolutely despicable notion, a popular one in the left, that only sounds less despicable when you couch it in dodgy "nuance", as Kerry did. Bush just repeated it plainly, and Kerry's supporters are going nuts about it. "Well, hell, it sounds monstrous if you come right out and say it like that!"

You know the campaign is going to shit when the candidate's positions are so lame and indefensible that his supporters have to pretend they're made up when people repeat them.

By the way, exactly how are Al Qaeda-types running around in Baghdad making America "less secure"? Does Iraq have a massive unsecured border with the United States that I didn't know about, or is this just one of those things we're all supposed to just "know" is true?

It's also worth noting that Associated Press reporter Jennifer Loven appears to be a liar (LIAR), because there were no audible "gasps of surprise" that I heard when I saw the clip (indeed, I don't think there's anybody left who's surprised by such comments from the Democrats), just a lot of actual booing of John Kerry. (Of course, as we know, nobody would actually boo John Kerry. They must've been neocon operatives with special voice training, just like the "fewer than five" guys that booed Michael Moore at the Oscars.)

Powerline has uncovered some fascinating facts about the Associated Press reporter, Jennifer Loven, behind this pathetic piece of "reporting". Among other things, her husband is actually named as one of John Kerry's leading supporters on Kerry's own website.

What liberal media? As Powerline notes, you can send complaints to the Associated Press at info@ap.org. Absolutely disgusting.
